August 6 - True Wisdom

True divine wisdom can be imparted to the mature believers. Unlike the wisdom of the worldly system that can be taught, true wisdom is to be imparted through the power of the Holy Spirit to the mature, spiritual person. Paul calls this “a secret and hidden wisdom of God which God decreed before the ages for our glory.” Such true wisdom has been hidden from mankind and was then revealed to those who loved the Lord. No eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart imagined but God has prepared this for believers, i.e. those who love Him.

The conduit of such true wisdom is through the Holy Spirit who searches everything, even the depths of God. The first steps for us to receive such wisdom is to part from the spirit of the world and receive the Spirit of God so that we might understand the things freely given by God. We receive true wisdom through the impartation of the Spirit, not taught by human words but directly taught by the Spirit who interprets spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.

You see, there are three types of persons in this world: the natural, the carnal and the spiritual. Only the last type may have the impartation of wisdom by the Spirit. The natural person is one who has not been redeemed by the cross of Christ and so he cannot understand spiritual things and he see them as foolish. The second type includes those who have believed in the cross but are still operating according to the flesh instead of the Spirit. They are like babes in Christ, immature, with jealousy and strife and behaving in a human way. They are not into the things of the Spirit.

Now the spiritual persons are those who are totally controlled by the Holy Spirit. As a result, they have the mind of Christ and can discern spiritual things. They see the world not as merely natural but with a spiritual dimension. Being able to see into both the natural and the supernatural, they can judge all things but the carnal and the natural persons cannot judge them. This is the only group of people possessing divine, true wisdom. This group of people can be educated or uneducated, rich or poor, wise or foolish by worldly standards, but they have the mind of Christ.

Do you have the mind of Christ or you just have a bright mind? Do you want to see into the natural as well as into the supernatural realms? Do you have a desire for this wisdom that can only be imparted by the Holy Spirit? Do you lack wisdom and want true wisdom?

You must turn from the worldly system to the system of the cross and the power of the Holy Spirit. Renounce those worldly wisdom that you have acquired through the years and ask the Holy Spirit to teach and impart true, divine wisdom to you now.
